Into space with stability and process reliability

Process reliability, stability and dependability: This is just a selection of the core competences in laser technology available from createch ag to the aerospace industry. Thanks to our expertise, the European Space Agency (ESA) is able to send satellites and probes into space, year after year.

The most innovative technologies congregate together in aerospace. We have to thank this high-tech sector for mobile communications and GPS systems, TV transmissions, weather data and much more. Laser technology is predestined for applications in this future-oriented segment.

Since 2007 the attenuator tubes up to 18 metres long for the payload cladding on space rockets have been produced by our specialists. Using jigs and fixtures specially developed for the purpose, we use lasers to cut, weld and mark them in validated process steps.

The payload cladding protects the valuable cargo against noise, frictional heat and mechanical stresses during the first few minutes of flight. After leaving the earth’s atmosphere it is jettisoned by means of the tubes. The cargo can then be placed at the intended position in space.

Our attenuator tubes were first used successfully on the qualification flights of the Vega cargo rocket on 13th February 2012. Since then they have been a standard fixture on the Ariane and Vega rockets.

Quality, reliability and traceability are our overriding priorities.
