Laser ablation is a non-contact process which is exceptionally flexible. It works by removing layers of material from a component. The laser beam with its precise focussing and high power density permits production of extremely intricate contours.

Daily Business:
Laser ablation is especially cost-effective when it involves removal of only small volumes.

Fields of application are:

• Watch components such as dials or bezels,
• Logos or small contours in castings or
• the removal of coatings from local areas (for instance on ceramics)

Laser ablation has the advantage, compared to conventional processes,  that no expensive tools or complex jigs and fixtures are required.

Field of application:
Hard, non-conductive or high-temperature materials such as Hastelloy, tungsten, carbide and also steel and ceramic materials are particularly well suited to laser ablation. We are also in a position to process sapphire glass, mother-of-pearl, onyx, Ohara and also carbon and other high-tech materials.
